anyone know of a website you can check on nuked shows before you download them
[#105624] Written by: SatanBJ [24/09/2008, 07:05]
doopes.com

i heard it was out of sync but it is watchable the out of sync is not
significant at all you won't even notice it no big deal actually...stick with
the xor release unless you want to see the extra few seconds xor version is
38.26 while 2hd 38.32...
just a little off topic i am always wondering why cappers always cut the credits
on most of the release??

doopes.com is no good
it does not list why 90210 was nuked , even though it is now known its out of
sync
is there an up to date website that you can check for nuked shows
i know anout nforce.nl, but that is also out of date
[#105631] Written by: SatanBJ [24/09/2008, 07:28]
actually it does: 90210.s01e05.hdtv.xvid-xor.nuke:out.of.sync_get.2hd.proper

and as a general rule, xor releases are awful quality and they cut stuff badly as well, so 95% of the time,
2hd is preferable, regardless of any other factors.

well i cant see it anywhere on doopes.com

can you post a link to where you can see it on that website
i must be doing something wrong then because when i enter 90210 nothing comes
up about a nuke
[#105638] Written by: nahz [24/09/2008, 07:56]
go to doopes.com then tick the nuked option and click on list then
ctrl+f 90210

because most networks (not just us anymore, unfortunately) tend to squeeze the
credits over to one side and run promos, which the majority of groups consider
'ads', so they cut them like a break. in the slower transfer days (think modem
access) cutting the end credits meant possibly downloading a program 10 minutes
faster but today any speed increase would be negligible.

there was a capper who was getting the sky-1 "galactica" episodes when they got
ahead of the us airdates that actually "unsqueezed" the credits and replaced the
sky voice over with the end title music. i know that had to add time to the
encode but it always seemed to be one of the first online and rarely, if ever,
had to be nuked for a tech issue.

myself, i'd like to see the end credits, compressed or not. i'll tolerate a
network promo or even a local news promo there because i'd like to see the guest
cast, tech people, etc. i know i'm in a minority here but seriously, would it
really require any extra effort at all to give the people who worked on the
series their credit? i've worked on projects where all i *got* was a credit so
i'm a little more sensitive to it than others, i suppose.
