good to see less / none of the beta nonsense that's going to / is already in the process of killing this show. |

actually, the whole beta "nonsense" is what's driving the show, the entire plot revolves around beta, beta wants them going back to mars, beta picked the crew, beta this beta that i'm expecting the beta side to play out much like the alien invasion deal with x-files, one of those go to conspiracy story lines that will pop up every few episodes, enough to keep you confused. the 20 or so love stories is what's killing the show |

friday night... the time slot that network shows go to die. oh well, i hope the last episodes keep up the good work. edit: i just checked and re-read the thread, the timeslot change is only in canada. on the down side, the ratings aren't doing to hot so... oh well... i'll still enjoy it while it lasts. |

maybe, but some of us believe that beta wants a child, and that is in part the reason for the selction. be interesting to see how it plays out, if it lasts against the low ratings. |

you know the ratings you are talking about are the american ratings but this isn't really an american show so those ratings aren't going to matter as much as normal. the shows mainly canadian as in made by ctv. which of course means they had to get funding from about 6 other countries since canada has no budget for tv shows but the smallest chunk of the funding is american, abc only bought broadcast rights, they didn't make it. so low ratings in the states doesn't mean it'll get cancelled. it sure doesn't help though. |

it looks like bbc is the #1 listed producer, with fox television right behind it; both listed as "co-producers", but bbc is first-billed. so, you're right that this isn't an "american" tv show... however, i guarantee you they did not create this show for vancouver local television. however, the "poor ratings" it receives in america are over 4 times the total viewership of all other countries combined. if it gets pulled off the air in the us, don't bet on it staying on the air in canada. |
