not exactly. asap used mpeg part 10 video (h.264/x264) versus mpeg visual advanced simple (xvid).

the thing is if they'd keep the same settings but instead of placing the 720p in an mkv container,
leave it in an mp4 container then most other players would support it. there isn't much sense in
placing it in an mkv container unless it has multiple audio tracks or soft-subs, otherwise the mp4
container would work a lot better. it's because of this that i grab the avi. it works better on
other players than mkv.
