if you are willing to put in the effort, i found a guide on how to make all your files playable in a standalone player. here is info on the q-pel codec: h t t p://forum.fucktheinter.net/viewtopic.php?t=25945&highlight=remove+qpel and here is g-spot, nifty little app to see if your file is standalone compatible before hand: h t t p://www.headbands.com/gspot/ |

thanks, macnorton. i\'ve been using divx\'s converter to make them playable - it works, but with some loss of quality...i\'ll try what the forum suggests, see if that\'s a better method. i\'ve used g-spot in the past, but it doesn\'t mention the q-pel codec when rendering the files. what\'s most irritating is, that my brother\'s cheap standalone player plays anything you throw at it, whereas my more expensive model crashes! |
