one of the best original shows syfy has created in its post-rebranding era is alphas, the x-men- and csi-influenced procedural that in't really a procedural. and after months of not knowing whether or not the show will be back for a season 3, the news has arrived, and it's not good. actress azita ghanizada, who plays super-sensed rachel on the show, tweeted out word today that the show would not return. "sad to say that alphas will not be returning. what an honor to get to play rachel for 2years & to work w/ & for the most amazing people ever" syfy has confirmed the cancellation and has released the following statement: "syfy has decided not to renew alphas for a third season. we've been proud to present this entertaining, high-quality series for two seasons and to work with an incredible ensemble of talented actors, producers and creatives as well as our partners at bermanbraun television. we'd like to thank the show's dedicated regular viewers for their tremendous support."
