When the Starz time-travel sci-fi/romance drama returns for season two, Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie (Sam Hueghan) arrive in France to attempt to stop the impending war Claire knows will doom Scotland, since -- being from the future -- she knows how history plays out. They plan to infiltrate the Jacobite rebellion from France, and that means getting thrown into the lavish French society. 

Since the first season took place entirely in the Scottish highlands, season two (based on author Diana Gabaldon's second novel, Dragonfly in Amber) will look entirely different. Jamie and Claire spend their time in opulent manors, attending parties and dealing with political intrigue rather than fighting battles in the mud.

In the first teaser trailer for season two, viewers get their first look at a very pregnant Claire, though that won't hold the newlyweds back from their passion that made the first season so steamy.
