for a scene that seems so into its own rules i sure see dimension breaking them a lot, the document i last
read indicated that the approved container is mp4, yet they keep releasing mkv... so annoying.

i know this isnt eztvs fault, i just needed to vent.

edit

see the section marked "container"

i appreciate that you've done more than most by finding and reading about scene rules.
however, in this case you are mistaken, the scene goup dimension is not breaking the rules.
rather, you are reading the wrong set of rules. there is one set for sd and another for 720p.

the sd x264 tv releasing standards 2012
http://scenerules.irc.gs/n.html?id=2012_sdtvx264u1.nfo
line#124: container must be mp4.

the 720p x264 tv releasing standards 2011 update 2
http://scenerules.irc.gs/n.html?id=2011_tv_x264_u2.nfo
line#84: must use matroska (.mkv) for container

additionally, most cappers (scene & non-scene) usually use mkv for files that are 1 gb or more.

it's good to know there are rules to this game. i am wondering though, if the uppers just find it
easier to up the larger file version first. i mean, i love that they offer the higher res, but i am
on limited time and space, so i'm looking for the smaller file first, which seems like it would be
quicker to upload anyways. well, anyway, i'm just grateful they do it at all. it's free and i
don't have any real reason to complain. it's more just a curiosity for me that they up the larger
file first.

to me, i don't care which file they post first. i'm just glad that their are people like them, that
take the time and effort so everyone can enjoy watching what they want when they want.

you're very lucky to have unlimited time and space then. not all of us are so lucky, and so we
can't just enjoy whenever we want, unless, of course, the smaller files get uploaded first. this at
least gives us a chance a that. but, as i originally stated it is just a curiosity for me and i am
very grateful. i don't mind waiting a day or two for the smaller file at all.
