to fully enjoy 720p you need to have a desktop resolution of, at the very least,
1280x720 pixels (most pc\'s minimum will be 1280x960 or 1280x1024 and that\'s ok
too). after you start playing, set it to fullscreen and enjoy!

about performance issues, coreavc is, at the moment, the fastest decoder
available, and even then can be tweaked just a little, by changing \"standard
deblocking\" to \"skip all deblocking\" in its properties.

powerdvd 7 (keep up-to-date with the latest version) also has an avc decoder,
which can be used by other players as well, and has gpu acceleration, which
means using your graphic\'s card to help decode the video. the filter shows as
\"cyberlink h.264/avc decoder (pdvd7)\". it can (and should) be tweaked by opening
its properties and turning on \"use dxva\" (directx video acceleration). it\'s also
adviseable to turn on hardware aceleration on the powerdvd program itself. that
way, cyberlink\'s decoder will try and use your gpu to help decode faster.

latest nero 6 and any nero 7 also have an avc decoder, although i couldn\'t test
its performance, since it does have dxva in its options, but, at least for me,
that option is always turned off.

the freeware, open-source alternative for decoding h.264 is a recent build of
ffdshow. it also can be tweaked by disabling post-processing and skipping all
deblocking for h264. even though, it\'s quite slower than the others, so you
might want to try them first.

i think the 720p is great, but i still favour the 350 mb releases
-- i'm on a
60 gb cap, and i'd kill my cap w/ 720p dls.

you dl more than 60gb in a week/month? wow.

anyone know a fast mkv player for mac? i can play 720p videos (in wmv) fine in
quicktime, but when i play mkvs they are all glitchy. i have so far tried vlc
and mplayer (which worked better than vlc, but still jerky), but couldn't find
any others to try.

just download as many players as you can and try them all. some will work better
than others.

i really like this 720p version.
if the big size of this kind of files is a problem, the solution could be a
private tracker for this vids.

i decided to download some 720p files and i saw this and a movie. i have just
watched a 350 version of it so myfinal thought is amazing quality it\'s like i
was watching a shadow. now i am watching the real thing. i want more.

ps. it took one day to download. the next day it\'s ready to watch. (i was
downloading something else beside it ) why people are in such a rush to watch a
tv show. in usa they wait for a week. (sometimes months for lost (in two months
i watched season 1, s2 and six episodes of lost. i am desperate now. i am gonna
watch battlestar galactica s1 and s2.))
